Hello All,
We experienced Brent and Becky's beautiful wedding in her family's backyard. Talk about going in style: a beautiful ceremony, Steel drummers, lights, a juice bar, catered authentic Trini food, regge and hiphop dance and friends/family. On the walk over from the hotel to the family home, we got to see 2 huge iguanas, crabs, cayman (small croc), etc. Pretty neat! We'll post pictures as we can. Merry Christmas and happy new year to you all :)

Happy Christmas from Trinidad!
Hello family and friends,
Just now we are not able to send you pictures, but we can tell you this place is beautiful. We hiked to Edith Falls yesterday and saw tropical flowers and parrots and heard the sound of howler monkeys in the distance. The kids swam with Becky and her sister in the sea and today we went to the mall. We had KFC fries :)
The food that Becky's family has been serving us is authentic Trini food- all very good. We love you all and wish you a very happy Christmas. We are writing you from an internet cafe a block from Becky's house.
P.S. We also enjoyed coconut water from a coconut that was trimmed from the backyard (They don't want coconuts bonking the wedding party on Sunday :)

Creation Art & Kids Song
We took some video this weekend and this is a test to see what video formats work together best. The clip features creation week art and a song by the kids in low light.

Aptera Car
I thought this car was pretty cool. It has solar panels that keep the inside at the right temp even when the car is sitting on the street.
It comes 100% electric or in a hybrid version that's gets 230 mpg at 55 mph!
The dash is just LCD's for your GPS, DVD, and cam views from outside.
Check out their website by clicking here.

Canada Day
Happy Canada Day! We celebrated it by doing the downtown Whitehorse, Yukon parade, cake, "O Canada!" song, etc. This was the first time the kids had experienced Canada Day. By the way, they are now dual citizens, so all the more reason to celebrate!

White Pass Train
After we hiked 34 miles of the Chilkoot Trail we got on this train and rode back to Skagway Alaska. We were tired, wet and hungry but very glad to see this train.
Kristine saw and took this picture. Very good eye Kristine. (-:

Reflection
This was a very nice reflection on Bear Loon lake. This was the view from our camp on the last night on the Chilkoot Tail hike.
The Chilkoot Trail is now known for for the gold rush of 1898. Thousands of people would go to Seattle, WA and then take a boat to Skagway Alaska. From there they took this trail over the pass and camped out for the winter. Come spring they got in the log rafts they built duing the long winter and went on to the Yukon through Whitehorse and on to Dawson City.
We saw some of the best views in North America on this hike with one exception. The Dempster Hwy. has the best views I'm told. I hope to travel the several hundred miles road North of Whitehorse to the Arctic Ocean someday.
